Viking Electronics was founded and began serving the world in 1955. Located in Southern California, viking manufactured electrical connectors for the Telecommunication and Military markets. viking continued to develop and expand its product offerings by producing and array of card edge connectors as well as the original products. Viking continued to broaden the product offering by addressing the Military market for custom applications. viking has been a supplier for the TOW interconnect device for over 30 years.
In 1993, Viking established a new manufacturing plant in Sonora, Mexico. This manufacturing plant was established to provide a cost effective solution to our customers without compromising quality. Assembly capabilities include semi-automatic assembly, hand assembly, soldering, bonding, cable assembly and rubber and plastic injection molding.
In July of 1994, Viking Electronics became a member of the WPI family of interconnect companies. WPI specializes in providing a full line of connector offerings, including but not limited to connectors and cable assemblies.
In January of 1999, Viking Electronics relocated its division headquarters to a new state of the art facility located in Moorpark, California. Within this new facility is a fully integrated manufacturing and engineering operation. Capabilities include; plastic injection molding, rubber molding, high speed progressive stamping, precious metal plating, and a fully equipped Tool and Die center.
